Back in 2003 Ford commissioned Marc Newson at Ikepod to design a special version of the Hemipode to commemorate the re-launch of the Ford Thunderbird. Incorporating the infamous Swiss ETA 2892 chronograph movement widely regarded as its most accurate. With the infamous "Thunderbird" logo on the dial and bezel Newson also incorporated tread of the tires used on the car in the rubber strap which incidentally is vanilla scented. Only 500 pieces were produced of which 250 were in this 44mm size and the other 250 were 39mm a true limited edition.
