Made in 1967 but shelved until 1971 due to the realisation that they were not fit for purpose. That was until the brainwave to implement gas escape valves to the then redundant cases. The majority of them ran mk2 dials which in time had a tendency to turn 'tropical' or brown. This is due to a thin layer of lacquer having been applied to them when manufactured unlike other Double Red dial variants.
